Obituary

Michael Stafiniak, 81, of Bethlehem, died Monday, Oct. 22, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the loving husband of Dorothy E. (Uzick) Stafiniak. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on Oct. 15.

He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation as an electrical mechanical engineer for 41 years.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Herasim and Eva (Chocholak) Stafiniak.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Stafiniak was a member of the American Legion Post and the Russian Club, both of Coaldale, and the Coaldale Volunteer Fire Department.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; a daughter Michele, and her fiancé, Russell Gianforcaro, of Broomall; two sons, Joseph, and his wife, Emma, of Media, and Stephen, and his wife, Jennifer, of Easton; a brother Simon, and his wife, Martha; a sister Helen, wife of Paul Sheers; and three grandchildren, Eva, Andie and Tye.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Slanta; and two brothers, John and Steve.

Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 980 Bridle Path Rd., Bethlehem. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday in the church. Parastas service 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Contributions in his name may be made to the church, 980 Bridle Path Rd., Bethlehem, Pa. 18017.
