Biography

Peter Trudich, 81, of West Ruddle Street, Coaldale, PA died on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Teresa (nee Shellhammer) Trudicha. Born in Palmerton, PA on February 8, 1930, Pete was the son of the late Peter and Eva (nee Hedesh) Trudich. A graduate of the former Coaldale High School, he served in the Navy. He was a restaurateur who owned the Viennese Villa in Coaldale. Pete was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford, PA. He also was a member of the Coaldale Legion and the Coaldale Lions Club. A daughter, Lisa Trudich preceded him in death in 1983. His brother, Nicholas Trudich and sisters, Martha Gibbas and Helen Jacobson also preceded him in death. Surviving him are his wife, Teresa; stepson, Todd Fisher and his wife, Shelley of Weissport, PA; grandchildren, Erin Fisher and Tyler Fisher of Weissport; sisters, Irene Schock of Walnutport, PA and Cathryn Piech of Michigan; and a niece, Kim Kurinec and her husband, Mike of Walnutport. Panachida service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 17 at the Gulla Funeral Home, 130 East Ridge Street, Coaldale with The Rev. Ron Hatton officiating. Interment in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery, Summit Hill, PA will immediately follow the services. Call 6-8 PM Sunday and 10 AM-12 PM Monday at the funeral home.
