Michael E. Danchak, 69, of Coaldale, PA died on Monday, May 8, 2017 in Bethlehem, PA. He was the husband of Deborah (nee Killian) Danchak. Born in Coaldale on August 21, 1947, Michael was a son of the late Nicholas and Helen (nee Besek) Danchak. Michael started working at the Angela Movie Theatre when he was 13; working his way from usher to projectionist. He also worked at the Victoria Theatre in Tamaqua. Michael was a projectionist and technician for major movie chains such as Sameric, Budco, and Redstone, up and down the East Coast. He leased and ran the Country View Drive-In in Barnesville, the Point Drive-In in Danville, and the Mahoning Drive-In in Lehighton for many years. Michael bought the Angela Theatre in 1993 and restored it from a single theatre to its present 3 screen theatre; running first-run movies and realizing the dream he had since a young man. He was a man who could fix anything and if it couldn’t be fixed, he would be the one to figure it out. His nickname was Mikegyver. Michael was a calm and humble person, who was deep into Metaphysics, and often helping other people with their problems. He was a member of the 1965 class at the former Coaldale High School. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Michael Danchak, Jr. of Bethlehem, Mark Danchak and his wife, Erika of Maryland, and Michael Deuber and his wife, Tara of Schuylkill Haven; daughters, Maureen Godley of Easton, Michelle Danchak of Easton, and Melissa Bisher and her husband, Bill of Easton; step children, Cheryl Boltz and her husband, Chuck of Shippensburg and John Schucker Isige and his wife, Suzanne of Wisconsin; 22 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Catherine Soberick of Lansford; and special friend, Josiah Algard of Coaldale.
