Elizabeth "Jean" (Choppe) Majez, 75, of 341 E. Hazard St., Summit Hill, died Thursday (February 12) in Pottsville General Hospital. She was the wife of John C. Majez. They were married 54 years this past May.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Starry) Choppe.

She worked at the former Kiddie Kloes in Lansford, retiring in 1994.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Summit Hill and was a former member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church where she was a past president of the Polish American Club Auxiliary and former member of St. Stanislaus Ladies of Fatima.

Surviving along with her husband are three daughters, Carol Ginster and her husband, John of Utica, N.Y.; Valerie Evans of Arlington, Va.; and Jacalynne Lopata and her husband, Mark of Nesquehoning; three grandchildren, Erin Evans, Kory Lopata and Jake Lopata. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Choppe and a sister, Irene Bendokus.

Services: Funeral services 9:30 a.m. Monday from Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill, with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Summit Hill. Call 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at funeral home. Interment Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Contributions to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, care of the funeral home.
