Theodore Puschak
Theodore Puschak, 83, of West Ruddle Street, Coaldale, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Kathryn (Daderko) Puschak. Prior to retiring in 1988, he had been employed by the former Pennsylvania National Bank, as vice president/manager at the Lansford and Tamaqua branches. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Hudock) Puschak. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale. A 1944 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, he was a life member of the Coaldale American Legion Post 170; a member of the Coaldale Russian Club; former member of the Broad Mountain District and Hawk Mountain Council, Boy Scouts of Aerica; former director of the Lansford Chamber of Commerce; former member and past president of the Lansford Lions Club; former member of the Lansford-Coaldale Sewer Authority; and former president of the American Institute of Banking. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Carol Lynn, wife of Bruce Matthews of New Tripoli; a son, Theodore Jr. of Harrisburg; and a brother, John "Jack" and his wife, Irene, of Coaldale. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Horoschak and Mary Puschak. Services: Wednesday, 10 a.m., St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale, with the Rev. Daniel Mathewson officiating. Interment, parish cemetery, Summit Hill. Call Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., or Wednesday, 9-10 a.m., at the church. Parastas service, 8 p.m., Tuesday.
