Frank J. Juracka Jr.
Frank J. Juracka Jr., 82, of Summit Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 6, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Martha B. (McHugh) Juracka.
He was the proprietor the former Juracka's Service Station, Coaldale, from 1972-1984, and later was a bus mechanic for the Panther Valley School District.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Frank J. Sr. and Catherine (Buzik) Juracka.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.
A 1949 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Coaldale American Legion Post, the Knights of Columbus, Tamaqua, and the Pinochoe Club at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.
Juracka was also an avid NASCAR fan and was very active in local racing as well.
Surviving are two daughters, Fran, wife of John Shemansik, and Terry Evans, and a son, Frank III, and his wife, Carol, all of Summit Hill; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Zuber and Rosemary Kintz; and a son-in-law, Thomas J. "Bootsie" Evans.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill. Interment, parish cemetery, White Bear, Summit Hill. Call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Shawn E. Clark Funeral Home, 200 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Contributions in his name may be made to the Memorial Fund of the church, 118 N.
