Robert W. Byatt, husband, father and grandfather, 82, of West Broad Street, Tamaqua, died Friday, April 25, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill.
He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Eveland) Byatt. They were married for 62 years.
He was a sales representative for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and the Knights of Columbus Life Insurance Co.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late William, and Mary Ann (West) Byatt.
He was a 1949 graduate of the former Coaldale High School.
Byatt was an active member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua, where he sang in the choir, was a lector and coached C.Y.O. basketball.
He was a member of the Men of Marian and had served as Grand Knight of the Henry W. Baker Lodge No. 2111, Knights of Columbus.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Susan E., wife of Jason Perry of East Stroudsburg, and Mary Ann of Center Valley; a son, Robert D., and his wife, Mary, of Washington Twp., N.J.; and two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Byatt and Collin Perry.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
Interment, parish cemetery, Tamaqua. Call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. No morning calling.
