Mary Nevenglosky, 94, of Hometown, died Saturday, Nov. 3, in Coaldale. She was the wife of the late Joseph Nevenglosky, who died in 1965.
A hairdresser, Mary also worked as a nutrition aide at Penn State Schuylkill Campus from 1970-1990 and served as a past Rush Township tax collector.
Born April 30, 1924, Mary was a daughter of the late John Stalmach and the late Josephine (Costello) Stalmach-Bialis and her husband, Andrew "Zeke" Bialis.
A 1942 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, she also graduated from the Empire Beauty School in Pottsville.
She was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Tamaqua, where she formerly was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Church choir and ladies auxiliary.
Mary was a member of the Coaldale Polish Club, where she had served as a secretary; a member of the Hometown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; and a member of the Rush-Ryan Seniors.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Nevenglosky and his wife, Gina of Mountaintop, Janie Libby of Magnolia, DE, Donald Nevenglosky and his wife Cindy of Hometown, Kenneth Nevenglosky of White Bear and Robert Nevenglosky and his wife Debbie of Hauto; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by sisters Blanche Suda and Jennie Shanosky.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 307 Pine St., Tamaqua. Interment, St. John the Baptist Byzantine Cemetery, Summit Hill.
