Obituary: Olga Macalush, 90, of Coaldale, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 29, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale.
She was the widow of Benjamin L. Macalush Jr., who passed away on Nov. 16, 2016.
She worked for U.S. government in Harrisburg and later worked in the front office of the former Coaldale State General Hospital.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Maxim and Anna (Lorchak) Herbert.
She was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a sister, Mildred O'Shura of Sellersville; three brothers, Joseph of Coaldale, John of Camden, S.C., and Sal, and his wife, Mary (Spack), of Hammonton, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Leonard Herbert Macalush; four sisters, Olga, Helen, Mary and Sophie; and a brother Dimitri.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, 217 First St., Coaldale, with the Rev. Paul Ropitsky officiating.
Interment, parish cemetery, Summit Hill.
Call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
