Price Born: January 05, 1930 Died: January 01, 2016 U.S. VeteranPhilip J. Price, 85 years of age of Lake Hauto, Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pennsylvania. Widower of Alice M. (Stanley) Price who passed away on July 12, 2010. Survived by; in-laws, nieces; nephews; companion Jean Machamer of Tamaqua, and many good friends. A graduate of Coaldale High School, Phil was an outstanding athlete, and continued to be an avid sports enthusiast. Phil, retired as a welding Supervisor from P.S.E.&G. of New Jersey having worked there many years. He served honorably in the United States Army, and was a member of the Lansford Masonic Lodge, Tamaqua, Panther Valley, and Ryan Twp. Senior Citizens. Phil was also a member of the First Congregationl U.C.C. of Coaldale, Pennsylvania. An accomplished wood carver, Phil had traveled extensively, and wintered at his home in Florida for many years. Born Sunday, January 5, 1930 in Coaldale, son of the late George, and Mary (Romer) Price. he was also preceded in death by his twin brothers, George, and James Price. Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550 Funeral Service's will be held at 11 o'clock AM on Tuesday January 5, 2016 from the funeral home, Rev. Dr., Wayne E. Benack to officiate. Friends shall be received Tuesday morning January 5, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
