Obituary
Georgene Rabada, 71, of Nesquehoning, PA and formerly of Coaldale, PA died on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Coaldale on May 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (nee Slivka) Rabada. A 1962 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, Georgene graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Bethlehem in 1965. Prior to her retirement in 1997, she worked for the former Coaldale State Hospital and Miner's Memorial Hospital. Georgene is a member of the St. Luke's School of Nursing Alumni Association and also a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Lansford, PA where she helped with the Paska Bread baking. She is survived by sisters, Nancy Woolley and her husband, David of Lancaster, PA and Marianne Davis and her husband, Robert of Coaldale and nephews and nieces, Anne Matienzo and her husband Dean of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Wayne R. Woolley and his wife Judy DeHaven of Red Bank, NJ, George S. Davis and his wife Robyn of Roslyn, PA and Brian R. Davis and his wife Cindy of Ashland, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 2 in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Center Street, Lansford with The Rev. Robert J. Teklinski officiating. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the service. Call from 9-11 AM, Thursday in the church.
