Gene Keenly
Gene "Skip" Keenly, 70, of E. Vernon St., Summit Hill, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Marty (Little) Keenly. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this past Aug. 10.
Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Walter S. and Helen (Getz) Polischak.
He was a graduate of the former Coaldale High School, Class of 1963 and had attended Goldey Beacom Business School in Delaware.
He worked as a purchasing agent for Solmar in Allentown.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansford.
Skip was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with the love of his life, Marty, and his puppy, Abby.
Surviving, along with his wife; are two brothers, Dennis Keenly, and his wife Marilyn, of Danielsville, and Ronald Polischak, and his wife Susan, of Coaldale; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Schimpf, and her husband Charles, of Tamaqua; several nieces and nephews.
Service: Funeral service is on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill. with the Rev. Roy Koehler officiating. Calling hours are from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
