Obituary:Mrs. Virginia (Bortnick) Danchak
Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Danchak, 72, of Lewisville, TX, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Feb. 11, 1943, in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas Bortnick and Anna (Millen) Bortnick.
Ginny married Nicholas "Nick" Danchak on Dec. 7, 1968, in Lansford, and was married for over 47 years.
She was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewisville, and, for more than 35 years, she participated in and supported a number of different activities through the church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Gregg, Eric and John, and his wife, Alisha; two grandchildren, Blake and Medleigh Danchak; and a brother Ted, and his wife, Susie, of Coaldale.
Ginny graduated from the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. She worked in various hospitals in the Northeast, before moving with her husband and young family to Lewisville in 1973.
Once in Lewisville, she became an integral part of working for and building the Lewisville Hospital, and worked there for more than 30 years as a nurse, supervisor and employee health nurse. She enjoyed and held close a number of activities around her faith, family and friends. Of these interests, she most loved spoiling and supporting her two grandchildren in all of their interests.
Service: Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewisville. Interment, Old Hall Cemetery, Lewisville. Call 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the or to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church Youth Ministries.
