Nicholas Danchak, 86, of 300 Parsippany Rd, Parsippany, N.J., formerly of Coaldale and Hometown, died Tuesday (May 18) in his home. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Molotzak) Danchak, who died in 2001.

Prior to retiring, he had been employed by the Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Harry and Anna (Goida) Danchak.

He was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale.

A 1936 graduate of Coaldale High School, he was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 238, Tamaqua.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet Maruschak of Parsippany, N.J., and Melanie Danchak of Akron, Ohio; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Ann Marie of Rochester, N.Y., Nicholas and Virginia of Lewisville, Tex., and Gregory and Thelma of Lansford; one sister, Julia Patochek in Maine; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Michael and Walter; and three sisters, Mary, Anna and Helen.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of arrangements.
