Robert J. Starry

Robert J. Starry, 68, of 5 Andrewsville St., Lansford, died Tuesday July 1, in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. He was the husband of Theresa (Karnish) Starry. They would have observed their 28th wedding anniversary this month.

He was a supervisor for the can plant of Alpo Pet Foods, Allentown, for 28 years before retiring in 1997.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Matus and Kristina (Prachar) Starry.

He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lansford.

Starry served in the Navy from 1958-62 and was a member of the Coaldale American Legion Post.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Matthew, and his wife, Bridget, of Macungie; two daughters, Andrea, wife of Martin Leposa of Center Valley, and Tanya, wife of James Meese of Quakertown; three brothers, Edward of Fairless Hills, Pa., Matthew, and his wife, Betty, of Coaldale, and Thomas, and his wife, Ann, of Tamaqua; a sister Eleanor, wife of Julius Inglima in California; and seven grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Sydney, Reagan, Marek, Matus and Katerina.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Butch Tomosovich; and three sisters, Rosemary Starry, Mary Collins and Margaret Rapant.
