Louise Ann Stoffa

Louise Ann (Richards) Stoffa, 83, of Jim Thorpe, passed away at home on Friday, July 13.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Anna (Valuch) Richards and was a 1953 graduate of Coaldale High School.

She met her future husband George Stoffa of East Mauch Chunk (formerly Coalport) at the Lakeside Ballroom. They married in 1957 and lived in Brentwood, N.Y. on Long Island where she worked for the Brentwood School District. In 1992 they retired and returned home to the family farm in Jim Thorpe. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 7, 2017.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four sons, George, and his wife Jennifer, Richard, Thomas and Stephen, and his wife Jacqueline; two grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher, and great-granddaughter Sarina.

Her family loved her dearly and mourn her passing. She will be remembered for her selfless devotion and love of her family and friends, her unfailing kindness to everyone, her laughter and smile.

Service: Visitation with family will be held 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, at St John the Evangelist Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, with a memorial service following immediately at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St John's Cemetery, Summit Hill.
