Elizabeth Sherbin

Mrs. Elizabeth Kidda Sherbin, 81, of Early Avenue, Coaldale, died Thursday, Jan. 5, in Lancaster. She was the wife of John Sherbin. The couple was married 58 years.

Prior to retiring, she had been employed by General Motors in Trenton, N.J., for 17 years.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Dancho) Kidda.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Lansford, where was was a member of the ladies guild and a former trustee.

She was a graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

Surviving are two sons, John Sherbin, and his wife, Kathy, of Newton, and David Sherbin, and his wife, Sue, of Richboro; a daughter, Lisa, wife of Kevin Allen of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Laura, Kaitlyn, Natalie, Nicholas, Dustin and Alex; four sisters, Helen Smith of Pottsville, Eva Benek of Lake Hauto, Julia, wife of Warren Rubel in Indiana and Margaret, wife of William Stafford of Kennett Square; and three brothers, Michael and his wife Ann, in Texas, Joseph and his wife, Beatrice, in Ohio, and Bernard Kidda, of Coaldale.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Andrew Sherbin; two brothers, Andrew and Jon Kidda; and three sisters, Mary Steltz, Anna Fisher and Irene Momrock.

Service: Monday, 12:30 p.m., St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Lansford, with the Rev. Robert Teklinski officiating. Interment, parish cemetery. Call Monday, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the church.
