Michael J. Derzack

Michael J. Derzack, 81, died on April 7, 2013. He was born in Coaldale, PA on December 29, 1931 to his dear parents Michael A. and Josephine Valent Derzack. Michael was a resident in Raritan for over (50) years. Michael was a Factory Worker for Johns Manville in Manville, NJ for (26) years; a Custodian for Bridgewater East & West High Schools in Bridgewater, NJ for (15) years; served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; was a Member for the Manville V.F. W. Post #2290; and was a Communicant for St. Joseph's Church in Raritan, NJ. He loved to do yard work, enjoyed going to Atlantic City, was a devoted husband, a loving father, a dear brother, and a wonderful grandfather. Michael was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his loving son, Michael T. (Karen) Derzack of Wexford, PA; his dear brother, Monsignor Thomas A. Derzack (Pastor of St. Nicholas Parish) of Walnutport, PA; three wonderful grandchildren, Christopher, Constance, and Cameron. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara Derzack (October 14, 2011); his brother, Joseph Derzack; and his sister, Betty Stocus.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 ( 908-725-1887 ). Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 starting with a viewing from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 16 East Somerset Street, Raritan, NJ 08869. Burial in St. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Nesquehoning, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Joseph's Church, 16 East Somerset Street, Raritan, NJ 08869.
