Obituary

Diana Demianenko, 83, of Lehighton, PA and formerly of Lake Hauto, PA.
and Deptford, NJ, died on May 31, 2016 in Lehighton, PA.

Born in Coaldale, PA. on December 30, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Boris and Mildred Demianenko. A graduate of the former Coaldale High School, Diana earned her Bachelor's Degree from East Stroudsburg College in PA and her Master's Degree from Rowen College in South Jersey. She served as a First Lieutenant
in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. Diana retired from the teaching
profession, having been employed as a high school physical education teacher
and basketball coach. She was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church,
Coaldale; the National Education Association; and the New Jersey Education
Association. She is survived by sisters, Olga Kushnir and her husband, John of
Lake Hauto and Nataline Miller and her husband, Earl of Manville, NJ; 4 nieces;
4 great nieces, and 5 great nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 3, 2016 in St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, First and Phillips Streets,
Coaldale with The Rev. Ignatius Gauvain officiating. Interment in Sky View
Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the services. Call at the church
from 10-11 AM on Friday. Memorials in Diana's name may be made to either
St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 217 First Street, Coaldale, PA 18218. Or
