William M. Balazovich, 91, formerly of Newark, died on Sunday, Dec. 17, in Dover, PA. He was the husband of the late Susan (Wolfe) Balazovich, who died in 2001.

Prior to retiring, he worked for Bethlehem Mines as a truck driver and in maintenance.

Born in Coaldale on Dec. 5, 1926, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Check) Balazovich.

He was a member of St. John XXII Parish, Tamaqua.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion posts, both of Coaldale.

Surviving are a sister, Margaret Boran of Hamburg; four nieces, Patricia Scutta, Ann Tarsavage, Kathy Winten and Peggy Hane; and a nephew, John Boran.

He was also predeceased by three brothers, William, Michael and Joseph; and two sisters, Mary Balazovich and Rose Arrone.
