Juliana, born on April 30th, 1911, in Coaldale, PA, passed away Saturday March 8th (2008) at her home in Westchester, Los Angeles. Juliana, known as Judy or Jule, worked as a Registered Nurse for Trans World Airlines (TWA) for 25 years. She got her nursing degree in 1930 from Christ Hospital in Jersey City, NJ and was Head Industrial Nurse for TWA upon her retirement in 1971. Juliana was married for 17 years to Phillip (Jack) Bartleson Wells, a former Military Police Officer and then Chief Storekeeper for TWA.

Juliana lived life to the fullest. She traveled, adventured, and enjoyed good company. Everyone who met her was uplifted and inspired. Juliana is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. A memorial service and mass will be held on Monday, March 17th at 10 am at the St. Jerome Parish (5550 Thornburn Street in Westchester, CA). Burial will follow at the Inglewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Roze Room Hospice (5455 Wilshire Blvd, Ste 810; Los Angeles 90036) or to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Juliana M. (Stanalis) Wells, 96, of Westchester, Los Angeles, Calif., died Saturday in her home. She was the widow of Phillip "Jack" Bartleson Wells.

She was a registered nurse for Trans World Airlines for 25 years, retiring as head industrial nurse in 1971.

Born in Coaldale, she was known as "Judy" or "Jule" and graduated in 1929 from the former Coaldale High School.

She received her nursing degree in 1930 from the Christ Hospital, Jersey City, N.J.

Surviving are nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother John.

Her funeral will be held in Westchester.
