Mary K. (Kuzak) Zemanik

Mary K. Zemanik, 88, of Second Street, Coaldale, died Sunday in Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Michael F. Zemanik, who died in 1997.

Prior to retiring, she worked in the men's department at the former Bright's Department Store, Lansford, for 15 years. previously, she had been employed by the state flag department of the Collegeville Flag Factory, Collegeville, for 10 years.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Nikita "Michael" and Anna (Gogoc) Kuzak.

A member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale, she graduated from the former Coaldale High School in 1940.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy A. Sabol of Whitehall; a granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Sabol of Bethlehem; a sister, Helen, wife of Thomas Fitzpatrick of San Clemente, Cal.; a sister-in-law, Mary Kuzak of Coaldale; two nieces, Carole Fitzpatrick of San Clemente, Cal., and Maryann McConnon of Coaldale; two nephews, Thomas Fitzpatrick of Kerrville, Tex. and Donnie Kuzak in Ohio; a great nephew, Joshua Kuzak; and four great nieces, Abbey Fitzpatrick, JoLynn Bubon, Abbey Kuzak and Savannah Kuzak.

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale, with the Rev. Daniel Matthewson officiating. Interment, Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, or 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, in the church. Parastas Tuesday, 7 p.m. Memorials in her name may be made to the church.
