Mrs. Irene Bendokus ................................Times News September 1, 2005

Mrs. Irene Bendokus, 82, formerly of Coaldale, died Wednesday (August 31) in the Hometown Nursing Center, Hometown. She was the widow of Joseph J. Bendokus, who died in 1980.

Prior to retiring, she was a floor lady for the former Van Huessen Factory, Coaldale.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Starry) Choppe.

She was a graduate of the former Coaldale High Schol.

Surviving are a son, Joseph M., and his wife, Janice, of Nesquehoning; a sister Jean, wife of John Majez of Summit Hill; a grandson and three nieces.

She was also preceded in death by a brother Michael.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of the arrangements.
