John T. Maruschak John T. Maruschak, 71, of West Ridge St., Coaldale, died Monday on Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Bernardine (Gallagher) Maruschak. Prior to retiring, he was employed by Air Products and Chemicals. A mechanical and professional engineer, he held a professional engineer's license and had previously worked for Naval Air Engineering, Philadelphia; Atlas Powder Company/ICI Americas; and Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late John and Johanna "Jenny" (Domin) Maruschak. A member of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, he had been a life long member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Coaldale, prior to its closing and was a member of the church choir. A former member of Coaldale Borough Council, he was also a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. A 1956 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, he graduated from Penn State University in 1960 with a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, John and his wife, Lori, of Scottdale and David and his wife, Karen, of Lansford; a daughter, Margaret "Mary," wife of Ted Nalesnik of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; five grandchildren; a brother, Tom and his wife, Kathy, of Coaldale; a sister, Patricia, wife of Michael Radocha of Lake Hauto; sisters-in-law, Janet Maruschak of Morristown, N.J. and Donna Maruschak of Quakake. He was also preceded in death by a son, Billy; and two brothers, Michael and Joseph; Services: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m., Saturday, St. Katherine Drexel RC., Church, Lansford, Interment, SS. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Nesquehoning. Call Friday, 6-8 p.m. or Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale.
