From the Times News September 5, 2006 Theodore T. Lithgow Jr., 74, of McDonough, Ga., a native of Coaldale, died Sunday, after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of Sara Preu Lithgow. A son of the late Theodore M. and Gertrude Tracey Lithgow of Coaldale, he graduated from the former Coaldale High School in 1949 and Muhlenberg College, Allentown, in 1953. Although he started his career in the chemical business, Mr. Lithgow spent most of his career with RJR-Nabisco as president of both the Fleischman and Merckens Chocolate Company Divisions. He served on the Board of Directors of the Henry Medical Center Foundation, Muhlenberg College, and The National Center for Disabilities, the Atlanta Heart Association, the Jesse Owens Foundation, the National 4-H Council, the Northeast Regional Olympic Committee (1976 and 1980), the American Bakers Association, and the Eagle's Landing Country Club. Surviving with his widow are four children, Dr. Theodore D. Lithgow, Bridgewater, N.J., Lynn Tessaglia, Johnston, R.I., and Elizabeth Lithgow and Matthew Lithgow of McDonough; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Lithgow. Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors, 2580 Highway 42 North, McDonough, Ga., 30253, is in charge of arrangements.
