John N. Philipovich

John Nicholas Philipovich, 91, of Staten Island, N.Y., formerly of Coaldale, died Thursday in his home.

Prior to retiring, he had been employed by the Mount Kisco School District, Mount Kisco, N.Y.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Derchak) Philipovich.

He was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale,where he was also a member of the choir and the Federated Russian Orthodox Clubs.

Surviving is a sister, Olga, wife of Bill Slupatchuk of New Milford, CT; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Nicholas; and four sisters, Mary Sudlo, Ann Mahala, Helen Philipovich and Mildred Wolfe.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of arrangements.
