Watkins, Thomas R.

Thomas R. Watkins, 75, of Etters, formerly of Hummelstown, died Tuesday in the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of the late Sylvia J. (Kemner) Watkins, who died in 2007.

Prior to retiring, he had been employed as a terminal manager for Hess Trucking, Hershey.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Thomas S. and Anna H. (Smollock) Watkins.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Navy.

The deceased was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hummelstown, where he served on the church council.

A graduate of the former Coaldale High School, he attended Millersville University, playing football during his school years. He was also a member of Brownstone Lodge 666, F and AM, hershey; the Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple Shrine; and the Hummelstown American Legion.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas C. of Hummelstown and Mark R. and his wife, Lynn, of Etters; and four grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles T. Watkins.
