Mrs. Rose Watkins

Mrs.. Rose Posie Watkins, 83, of 38 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, died Saturday (April 19) in St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. She was the widow of Noah E. Watkins, who died in 1957.

Born in the Seek section of Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Herron) McNealis.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Coaldale, and graduated from the former Coaldale High School in 1943.

Surviving are a daughter, Rose Marie, wife of Jim Young of New Mahoning; a son, Noah E., and his wife, Catherine of Lansford; one sister, Sarah Ritz of Brookhaven; a brother, James, and his wife, Eleanor, of Jim Thorpe; three grandchildren, James Young Jr., Noah E. Young and Kelly Watkins; five grandchildren, Mandee, Micah, Levi, Kennedy and Hope.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary McHugh and Rita Firkal; and a brother, Jerome.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of arrangements.
