Janet “Jenny” Jupin, 87, of 170 East Street, Coaldale, died Friday (June17, 2005) in Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

She had been employed as a sewing machine operator at W&L, Coaldale, for 25 years prior to retiring.

Born in Clifton, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Karetina (Wasil) Pasternak.

She was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale.

She was a den mother for Cub Scout Troop 162, Coaldale. In church, she was a treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society, a Sunday School teacher, and sang in the church choir for many years.

She graduated from Coaldale High School Class of 1936.

Surviving are a son, John Jupin of Lancaster; a daughter, Kathryn Jupin of Coaldale; two sisters, Olga Nameck of Stroudsburg and Anna Wargo of Coaldale; a brother, Alec Pasternick of Tamaqua, and two grandchildren.

The Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
