Alberta Pius

Miss Alberta Pius, 89, of Coaldale, died Thursday in Davis Manor in Mountaintop.

Prior to retiring, she had been employed as a bookkeeper at Silberline, Lansford.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Tessie (Bycosky) Pius.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Lithuanian Catholic Church, Coaldale.

A 1936 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, she was a graduate of the McCann School of Business.

She was also a member of the Panther Valley Golden Agers and was active with Girl Scout Troop 87.

The last immediate member of her family, she is survived by a nephew, John Pius and his wife, Theresa of Secane.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Albert; and two sisters, Helen and Theresa.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of arrangements.
