Sophie E. Nesterak

Sophie E. Nesterak, 85, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., formerly of Coaldale, died Monday (January 23) in the Fishkill Health Center, Fishkill, N.Y. She was the former wife of the late Michael Maruschak.

She was last employed as a seamstress for Sue Frocks, Tamaqua.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Garber) Nesterak.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Lithuanian Catholic Church, Coaldale.

The deceased was a 1939 graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

Surviving are a son, Robert Maruschak of Wappingers Falls; a sister Mildred of Coaldale; three brothers, Leonard of Coaldale, Joseph of Newark, Del., and William of Pocono Lake; and two grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Edward and Thomas.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of the arrangements.
