Mrs. Marie E. Zuber

Mrs. Marie E. "Mitzie" Zuber, 78, of 152 E. Fell St., Summit Hill, died Sunday (February 17, 2008) in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, with her loving family at her side. She was the widow of Michael M. Zuber Sr., who died June 30, 2002.

Before retiring in 1978, she was the personnel director at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Katherine "Kate" (Buzik) Juracka.

She was a past member of the American Academy of Medical Administrators and the American Society for Hospital Personnel Administration of the American Hospital Association.

The deceased was a 1947 graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

She was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Coaldale.

Surviving are a son, Michael Jr., with whom she resided; a daughter Catherine, wife of Thomas Knepper of Columbus, Miss.; a brother Frank of Summit Hill; and two grandchildren, Greg Knepper of Kent, Wash., and Alexis Knepper of Pittsburgh.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Mary Kintz.

The Holmes-Griffiths Funeral Home, 200 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, is in charge of the arrangements.
