Mrs. Myrtle S. Sicenavage

Mrs. Myrtle S. "Myrt" Sicenavage, 88, of 10 E. High St., Coaldale, died Monday (December 26) in the VNA Hospice of the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the widow of Joseph A. Sicenavage, who died in 2000.

She was an inspector for the former Van Huesen Co., Coaldale, and the former Jane Ann garment factory, Seek, before retiring.

Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Sockel) Jupina.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Lithuanian Catholic Church, Coaldale, where she was a former president of the Rosary Society and a past council member.

Mrs. Sicenavage was a past president of the United Garment Workers Union of the Van Huesen firm.

She was a current judge of elections for the Middle Ward of Coaldale, a post which she held for many years.

The deceased was a graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

She was an avid baker.

Surviving are a daughter Dorothy, wife of Geno Nardini of Lansford; a son Joseph, and his wife, Dolores, of Ocean View, Del.; a sister, Mildred Radocha of Coaldale; a brother Theodore, and his wife, Josephine, of Lansdale; and three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas J., who died in 1943; a sister, Helen Hoffman; and a brother, Dr. Joseph.

The August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, is in charge of the arrangements.
