Helen T. Bensinger

Helen T. Bensinger, 82, of Valley Road, Lewistown Valley, died Dec. 26, 2009, at her residence. She was the wife of Randall Bensinger.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Trubilla.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford, where she was involved in the civil, fraternal and public offices. She had been active in the church's Ladies Guild and was an ardent perogie maker at the church. She also belonged to the Lewistown Valley Grange 1639.

She was a graduate of the former Coaldale High School.

Surviving along with her husband is a son, David M. Bensinger and his wife, Margaret, Lewistown Valley; and daughters, Jean Schock and her husband, Gary; Zionsville; Marlene J. Boyle and her husband, Francis, Tamaqua; and Helene V. Ziegler and her husband, Ronald, West Penn; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Alex Trubilla and his wife, Stella, Coaldale; and her caregiver, Polly Thamarus. She was predeceased by brothers, Peter, John, Wash, Michael and Steven and by a sister, Mary.

Services: Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford; with the Rev. Ronald Hatton officiating. Parastas Service 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Panachida Service at 10 a.m. at August M. Gulla Funeral Home, 130 E. Ridge St., Coaldale. Interment at Parish Cemetery, Lansford.
