Harry Wyshosky Jr., formerly of Coaldale, passed away Monday at Mt. City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a guest. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary (Nazar) Wyshosky and was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Coaldale.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was member of the American Legion, Coaldale. He was the sexton for around 50 years for St. Mary’s Orthodox Church and also worked for Atlas Powder Works.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his brothers John and Peter Wyshosky; and sisters Anna Shears, Helen Manfredonia, Mary Yatsko, and Margaret Ogozalik.
Surviving are his sister Julia Forte, Hazleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
An Orthodox Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 30th, at 11 A.M. in St. Mary’s Orthodox Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Summit Hill. The family will receive friends in the church on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and Friday morning from 9 A.M. until time of service. A Panachida will be celebrated on Thursday at 7 P.M.
