Cadets in the Panther Valley High School Junior ROTC corps received awards during the sixth annual awards night last month at the school.

The awards were presented in recognition of military and academic excellence during the school year. The awards were presented by representatives from the Department of the Army, Pennsylvania National Guard and national and local patriotic and veteran organizations and auxiliaries.

The Department of the Army Superior Cadet bronze medal with ribbon, the most prestigious award, was presented to first-year cadet Harry T. Jolley and second-year cadet Jonathan Pecha, both of Nesquehoning; third-year cadet Rebecca Ahner of Lansford, and fourth-year cadet Michelle Oboril of Nesquehoning.
